Occupational Therapy
Our therapeutic approach is tailored to suit children, young people and their families. We bring their lived experiences into play, so that we all come together create a practical therapeutic journey.
We support children and young people to develop the confidence and skills they need in order to know themselves, celebrate their strengths, and live their best lives.
Our Occupational Therapists create a variety of programs that support individual families as well as classrooms and community groups.
Allied Health Assistance
Allied Health Assistants (AHA) are fully trained and guided by your OT at all times to ensure tailored support. They complement and help implement the plans designed by your OT to maximise therapy effectiveness with support needs such as:
- Fine motor skill development
- Gross motor skill development
- Daily living skill development
- Community access support
- Executive functioning, play and social relationship skill development
- Practicing the use of tools and visuals developed by your OT
By utilising the skills of our AHA team in concert with our OT specialists, we can also increase the frequency and effectiveness of our support.
Due to many factors, accessing OT supports often comes with long wait times, however by providing exceptional AHA support, we can often decrease wait times for children and young people who need it.
Music Therapy
We can all dance, when we find music that we love
The magic of music therapy is clinically proven to help children and adults to learn and practice social skills in a fun and engaging way. Parents can also incorporate music and movement activities into their daily routines to promote social skills development at home. Music is for everyone.
RiverRun PTS is fortunate to have a Registered Music Therapist on our team and can now offer this fun and fabulous therapy to our children and young people.
There are many therapeutic processes occurring under the surface. Music therapy sessions are set up to feel enjoyable, playful and creative. Our music therapy children and young people aren’t required to have any musical skills, as we can tailor methods and activities to suit their interests and the musical experiences, to make them feel comfortable.
